Pavlovskyi Sergii
Abstract

The aim of the study was to study the features of the course of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in young patients on the basis of type 2 diabetes mellitus. In a retrospective study, 45 young patients (25-44 years old) with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease in combination with type 2 diabetes mellitus were examined. On average, their age was (40.33 ± 1.02) years old (34-44 years old). 86.7% of all patients were men. The detection period of diabetes mellitus was from 1 to 12 years – on average (6.27 ± 0.93) years. It was established that fatty hepatosis, as a stage of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease associated with type 2 diabetes mellitus, in young patients had its own peculiarities. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease is clinically asymptomatic with complaints of dryness in the mouth, general weakness, dizziness, discomfort in the right hypogastrium, the manifestations of which are supplemented by a feeling of bitter taste in the mouth, discomfort in the abdomen, an increase in liver size, and grow from 1-year to 12- year period of the disease with the highest severity in the 5th year of the disease. The set of ultrasonographic signs established stage I in 11 patients (24.4%), stage II in 14 patients (31.1%), and stage III of fatty hepatosis in 20 patients (44.4%). Obtained parameters of ALT and AST testify to the damage of hepatocytes in patients of young age with different diabetes mellitus, and the most expressive changes were revealed at a 5-year period of the disease. In patients of this age group, there are significant deviations in the lipid profile of the blood with an increased risk of atherosclerosis. The third part of all patients had the diagnosis of metabolic syndrome.
