Abstract

The use of implants from various materials in medicine is a rather topical problem today. The question of determining the influence of titanium clips on the reparative regeneration of the tongue and cheek's wounds in post-implantation dynamics remains the issue for today. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of titanium clips on the dynamics of wound healing in tissues of the cheek and tongue after implantation in experimental animals. Material and methods. The experiment was conducted in rabbits of the chinchilla line (n=8) in 2015. The animals were implanted with titanium clips in soft tissue of the tongue and cheeks. Histological studies were performed on the 7th, 14th, 28th and 60th days after implantation to study the dynamics of the change in the piercing canal. Results and discussion. On the 7th day, the wound canal of the tongue and cheeks was filled with a large number of purulent necrotic exudate and detritus; there was a wall with sections of necrosis and severe inflammatory infiltration represented by neutrophilic granulocytes; the epithelial regenerate was not formed during the wound canal, most of the cheek was without epithelization. On the 14th day, the tongue and cheeks wounds were filled with a large volume of purulent necrotic detritus; the epithelial regenerate was intermittent, uneven in thickness with signs of hyperthyroidism and parakeratosis. There were areas of necrosis and marked inflammatory infiltration in the wall of the wound canals. They were represented by neutrophilic granulocytes, and determined; there were also acanthosis growth formed in the cheeks wound canal. On the 28th day of epithelization, the wound canal of the tongue was epithelized from the dorsal and ventral surface, the epithelium was intermittent, uneven in thickness with signs of acanthosis, hyper- and parakeratosis. We subepithelially determined granulation tissue, weakly fuchsinophilic collagen fibers, and small numbers of fibroblast cells, lymphocyte-like, plasma cells, labrocytes and neutrophilic granulocytes. In the wound of the cheek, there was uneven epithelization with sections of necrosis and neutrophil granulocytes, the epithelium had signs of hyper, parakeratosis and acanthosis, granulation tissue was with marked edema and inflammatory infiltration. On the 60th day, the wound canal of the tongue was covered with a sophisticated multilayer, plectile epithelium with signs of hyperkeratosis, parakeratosis and acanthosis, subepitelial-granulation tissue with fibrous structures, single fibroblasts and vessels. The wall of the wound canal had areas of inflammatory infiltration; the deep parts of the tongue had inflammation with the participation of neutrophilic granulocytes. Conclusion. The formation of acanthosis and pseudoepiteliomatous enlargements was also determined in the wound canal of the cheek. The formation of volumetric granulation tissue in the later stages of the regenerative process may lead to the formation of a cellulite scarring piercing site.
